Keep the Prayers Coming!

This week has been a roller coaster ride...pretty much like every other week in the mission! We have seen so many miracles in the past two weeks including two new investigators. With this success, however, opposition to the work can be felt in almost every way. Truth is the mission is hard, but we have the hope and the faith necessary to see miracles! We appreciate the prayers and ask that they keep coming. We need all the help we can get!

Navajo Food!

There is a family that is residing in our area for five weeks while their dad does welding work here. They are from Flagstaff. They have three little boys and a baby girl and they love to feed us! Last week, they fed us Navajo Tacos! One of their boys gave me a dream catcher. They are so much fun to be around! :)

My Navajo Heritage Helps!

We met this Navajo lady from Flagstaff, Arizona. She was a referral by this random man on the street. He told us about where she lived but his directions were super unclear. So we went to the area, said a prayer, and then followed the Spirit. What do you know, but we found her! We enjoyed a visit with her. She has family who are members of the church, but she is not. She is married to a Jewish man from Israel. We're not sure how open they are too us teaching them, but she really likes me and we were able to connect with her simply because I am Navajo haha :) She wants to have us over for dinner and make tortillas.

Root Canal!

So, just as things were starting to look up in our area, we got some bad news because Satan really does not like missionary work. My companion has to have a root canal! It's been a roller coaster of a week, and I honestly cannot remember much of it.

Branch Becomes Ward!

I think the biggest news this week came [last Sunday] at church.  Our little  branch became a ward and the boundaries of both the branch and my area were realigned so as to encompass more land. Yay - more island to go tracting on! It was quite exciting though to see the branch become a ward. It has been close for quite some time. The branch was formed about a year ago, and apparently it was super small to begin with. My companion, Sister Ramos, started working in the branch two weeks after it became its own unit, so this was a very exciting announcement for her. She started crying. It was funny.

Working Hard!

We are getting better at contacting people. We're better able to teach to their needs and follow the direction of the Spirit. We've been working hard every day this week, and there is barely any time to catch a break.

Well, this week was more successful than last. We found two new investigators! Please pray that they wil continue to want to learn more about the gospel.

Snail Mail Letter!

We FINALLY got our car back after 3 weeks.

I went on exchanges this week with my old companion.

We're planning on working more with members.  They are the greatest asset when it comes to retention after baptism and after we find investigators they help a lot on their journey to baptism.

Today's P-Day (May 6) was the most stressful yet because of our car...we didn't get to go to the zone activity for the second time in a row.

Tornado Scare!

Things are good. We had a tornado scare on Monday (April 29).  There were heavy winds and lightning and we got a message on our phone from the alert system. Nothing happened though thank goodness.

More Car Problems!

I don't have any time to write today. Long story short, the car got fixed and started having problems again. We unexpectedly have to take it in today so email time for us this week is short.

Miracle Ride #2

We were going to this BBQ, but we had a less-active lesson run late so we had to get there in 40 minutes and we were still very far away.  We were hurrying, but there was no way we'd be able to make it, when this couple pulled up.  They said they were members from Salt Lake visiting their son and offered us a ride.  Long story short, we made it with plenty of time to spare!

Moral of the story: God provides for us!

Miracle Ride #1

Twice this week, we have had "miracle rides".  The first was on Tuesday night.  We got a late start back home and we needed to be back by 9:30, but at 9:25 we were still fifteen minutes out.  We started hurrying, but then this lady pulled up and she was like, "I'm a member visiting from Austin.  Where are you heading? Get in!"  So we made it home :)

Angels Among Us!

The members in this branch are wonderful!  They will drop everything to give us rides whenever we need, and if they see us on the street, they pick us up!  We are so grateful for them.
