I learned a valuable lesson at the Spanish Ward: Never compliment anyone on something that they could easily give you. Twice - right before Relief Society - I complimented a lady on her earrings and another sister on her cool multi-colored pencils. Well, now I have a new, really nice pair of earrings and a cool multi-colored pencil. I felt super bad. But.....it was super sweet of them. :) Next week, I am only complimenting on hair or a dress ---- something they can't take off and give to me. :)
